I’ve just got in and there is a Hermes card in my porch. It says they’ve left my parcel by my front door but there is nothing here. There appears to be no number to call, just a live chat, which I’ve tried, and they’re insisting it’s been delivered. Any bright ideas??

Seems a bit obvious Smo, but could someone have nicked it .. ?
Their customer service dept appears to be on: 0330 333 6556

why not give them a call?
They are responsible for delivery to you, not the front door.
Contact the merchant/seller and ask them to contact Hermes for more info.

Well yes I guess so, though it wouldnt be easy to see from road, but do I have any comeback?
Ring them and make a complaint.Leaving it the front door is not a secure place to leave it.

I’ve rang that number and it says either do live chat or email
Have you looked in your bin? In the bushes? Last time Hermes delivered to my daughter they put it in the coal bin that was full of coal. If you don't receive it you can claim back from the seller and they will have to make a claim to Hermes ( good luck to them). The contract is between the seller and Hermes not you. They have no proof of delivery if there is no signature.

I have absolutely no idea what the parcel is - I run my own FB shop and I get parcels all the time.
// Seems a bit obvious Smo, but could someone have nicked it .. ?//
Smo as able as she is - is not a telepath or mind reader
ond shoujld maintain she has not received it

if a teenager over the phone at hermes told me it had been delivered and must have been nicked (OK?) - I would go ballistic or nuclear or both

go through theusual complaint channels
Contact the sender straight away and tell them what you have told us. It is up to them to sort the matter out with the courier.
Very remiss of them indeed to leave it at the front door. Not a good advert for them at all.
If you have no idea what it is or who sent it then you'll have to wait until someone says - 'I sent you a parcel'.
Do you know what was in the parcel and who sent it?
It is pointless Smow trying to contact Hermes to complain. She has no contract with them. She needs to contact the seller asap.

Interesting Danny. I think I’ve worked out which parcel it should be by going through what has and hasn’t arrived this week. It’s a set of bedding.
No help to you I know but this phenomenon has become so common it has a name, 'Porch Piracy'!
//I have absolutely no idea what the parcel is - I run my own FB shop and I get parcels all the time.//

What? You order stuff without knowing who the seller is? If you have ordered stuff for your shop then it should be easy to go through your invoices and see which items you've ordered have not arrived. May take a few days but something you were expecting is not going to come.
Apart from contacting the seller I would also complain to Hermes about leaving it at your front door.
