New Router

Hi all
I had to contact talktalk, my isp, last week to tell them that their modem/router was not receiving any power from the supplied adaptor. After batting off stupid questions such as "how many lights are lit on the front panel" the advisor conceded that the adaptor was dead. They would send new modem/router and it arrived today.
A few years back, I bought a Dlink dedicated modem with multiple antennas to improve the signal around the house. Obviously, the Dlink is missing the modem part in its innards and can't be used alone.
My set up is that the phone line goes into the talktalk router and that in turn feeds the signal to the dlink router. The family normally select the dlink as the preferred wireless connection as it transmits at 5g(?) and the signal is consistently good. Both the dlink and the talktalk are present under wireless connections.
My question is about what happens when I change the talktalk modem/router. Will the dlink just take the change in its stride and still broadcast as normal? Or will I have to make adjustments in the settings? I still want to connect to the dlink after the talktalk device has been replaced.
The set up instructions on the replacement device make it look simple but don't tell you what to do if you have a router like mine in the network!

When I said that the talktalk and dlink devices are listed under wireless connections, I meant that they are both listed under available connections when the wireless icon is pressed 9n thr task at.

If the DLink gets the signal from the TalkTalk router via a cable, it will look after itself and you will need to make no changes.
