Trouble at Home

Can anyone help me with a home computer, we are running XP with the Norton internet security 2006 and Spy Sweeper and three of us can get onto the internet as normal but the other two can't. They can sign on as normal but when they click on the internet symbol the little egg timer comes on for about 5 seconds and nothing the little arrow comes back, and when they sign off it takes ages to close down. Your help would be grateful. Thanks.

Thanks ZebUK for your answer, but someone told me about my internet suppier's 'Help ' page, it turn out to be 'Proxy Settings Have Changed'. (never heard of them), it reset the settings and now everything is working as normal.
