Moderator Guidelines

Just a post to endorse the final sentence (see below) of ABSpareEditors post which has responses barred. I feel sure that many Abers share my appreciation for their efforts.

////19. Moderators must accept that moderating The AnswerBank is a thankless task. Please know that the Editors really appreciate your effort and the support that you give to The AnswerBank. ////

Thanks Ed
All look good to me.

And yes Canary, good to highlight the last one. I think most of us know the majority of Mods are fair and fall into that.
Where can I see the guidelines please?

Sorry Missterious, here's a link to the real post.

Apologies, it's not the last one anymore. Although, it is still number 19.
Any chance of moving this from Chatterbank to Editor's Blog where the 'Guidelines' are posted? Left here it's likely to disappear off the front page before long and might be missed by some.
It's fine in ChatterBank. The original post is 'sticky' in the Editor's Blog.
//17. Moderators must remember who they have suspended, and make sure to reinstate the user within 7 working days, unless the editorial team has reinstated the user.//

There is one member that's been suspended since 2020 , i note
Yes, well thats why the guidelines have been published; so it wont happen going forward.
Some users are suspended indefinitely. They are normally banned users that have returned. Moderators suspend the user and then let us know. We then leave them suspended or reinstate them.

Regardless, this is for the present and future. We're not going to dig up the past.
And what happens to moderators who do not follow your guidelines?

I am put off this site when my posts, are constantly being zapped. I spend time writing you free content, only to find it removed for no discernible reason. I once had to change my user name to be able to carry on using this site.
It would be useful if the site could put a suspension end date and time on the users home page. Then they know how long they are on the naughty step.
Thanks Canary. I found it after I posted x
Gromit, the last time one of your answers was removed was 352 answers ago. The reason it was removed is because it was responding to an answer that was later removed, which meant that your response had to be removed as well.
I believe its generally a week TTT. I think I have just read that on Spare Eds post.
Ed - shouldn't this rule be included and be in the guidelines for moderators to bear in mind ?

Posts using derogatory names/ phrases ,to describe other users , should be removed
