Very Strange Internet Problem

I have a usb modem for connecting to internet.The Internet connection is fine when I connect it using on one of my laptops.But in another laptop the connection is established properly but after a few minutes no website is displayed. I use Windows XP on both my laptops. Please help in fixing the problem ASAP.

just a thought, but on the laptop with no display,do you have a homepage set up - under Control panel,internet options,address - if this is blank maybe this would explain a blank page?
