Worried Sick About My Friend Tonight - Think She’s Taken Something She Shouldn’t Have : (
I know nobody will probably see this at this time but just needed to offload.
My friend has M.E and is on some medications, is a single mum to teenage boy and a wonderful woman. We message/ speak several times a day. Mid-day today she messaged and said "What have I done ?? I've txt my sons dad(her ex) and told him I still have feelings for him!!" Which I knew was true even tho they split years ago. He replied almost straight away to her with a lovely reply and said he was v sorry but that he had moved on, and hoped that she wouldn't go drifting back to that 'dark place'. (I knew she'd suffered from depression for a while years ago so assume he was referring to that)
Anyway we chatted several times after that, then at 9 pm she said she was going to bed, which is normal at that time.
11.30pm she messages me a long, manic msg, saying there were crowds of angry parents outside her house waving placards saying no to drugs etc, and that they must be waiting for her as she'd taken some old prescription medicine and it was making her hallucinate and talk to the carpet and the walls.......!??
I immediately started panicking and asked her to photograph them for me, just to see what she did whilst I tried to get hold of someone else I knew in her road, and she said she couldn't as they would see her.
Long story short, 2 other mutual friends, & her daughter who is a police officer got to her house. I managed to spk to them on the fone and they'd convinced her she wasn't being spied on etc etc. Just had a call right now (1.15am) from one of the friends and theyve got her in an ambulance and on the way to hospital to be assessed by mental health team, and check what she's taken.
God knows what she's done/taken, but I'm worried sick out of my mind for her as I've never ever known her do anything this. Just completely out of character.
So sorry for the stupidly long post but I had to offload x

I have suffered from psychosis and know that for her this is very real. The hospital will give her drugs - they will also try and find out the cause.
It must be difficult for you, but for tonight there is nothing that you can do.
I hope things are better for all of you in the morning.
Morning update - the hospital have declared that she had a "one - off psychotic episode " but that she is ok now, and have already discharged her! She is on way home in an Uber! I am waiting for her to get home and then I am going to go over to her house and see if I can find out anymore and if she needs anything. Haven't slept a wink.
Trouble shared is trouble halved. Now I know that's rather trite at this time, but there is nothing worse than "waiting for news" in these situations, so coming on here can help to occupy your mind which otherwise will soar off on all sorts of fanciful (and unpleasant) ideas.
I hope it's all sorted out by now.
