How do I stop my WhatsApp contacts accessing my Facebook. Certain people come up on my 'friend suggestions' that I'd rather they didn't

I've tried all the Google suggestions but I don't same to have the suggested features on my phone i.e. unshare info, delete phone number

I dont think you can stop 'Friend Suggestions' but you can limit/stop folk accessing your facebook, you need to look at your privacy settings on faceboook

People aren't coming to your FB page.  It's FB just suggesting that you might know them, FB and WhatsApp are owned by the same company.

Try this:

Open the Facebook app

Tap the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner

Scroll down to find and tap Settings & Privacy

Tap Settings

Click Notifications

Look for ‘People You May Know’ and toggle off the ‘Allow Notifications on Facebook’ option.

Confirm your choice by clicking Turn Off.

Does that mean that my profile won't show  in the other person's   'Friend Suggestions' if I have them on WhattApp?

If I  toggle off the ‘Allow Notifications on Facebook’ option will that mean that I won't appear as a 'Friend Suggestion'  on anyone else's Facebook page. My main concern is that I'm not contactable

Should do. Try it and see what happens for a couple of weeks.

My FB account is locked down - under Settings and Privacy only 'friends of friends' can contact me (there is no better option) and nobody can see my friends list.

Under 'Who can Facebook suggest your profile to based on your phone number or email address?' both boxes show 'no one'

'Do you want search engines outside Facebook to link to your profile?' is turned off

'How you get message requests'  is set to 'don't receive requests' for all three.
