On this afternoon.  I've seen it umpteen times but I'm recording  it because I can't resist.  Magical!  Does anyone else still watch it?

Not me, too schmalzy 😊

Amazing that it's just short of 80 years old and it's still being shown - and people are still watching it.  That's some achievement.

No, I watched it once to see what all the fuss was about, I must be one of the only viewers who didn't like it

I prefer Die Hard 😉 But I still like it haven't watched it for a few years though.
I'm sure over the past couple of days I've spotted it on at least three different channels.

I've never forgotten the broken glass in that film, arksided.  Ouuuch!  Great film.

Every Christmas eve

One of my favourite films...just brilliant IMHO!!

Apparently it was a bit of a flop originally, but 'took off' when US TV stations started showing it at Christmas in the 70's after its copyright had run out.

I get the tissue box out every time I watch this film.

80 years is nothing. The Changing of the Guard ceremony in London is over 500 years old, it's still being shown and people flock to watch it 😊

Now that's some achievement !

Hardly a Hollywood movie, canary.

No, it's live theatre, much more challenging.

Question Author

Give me a minute, canary.  I'll try to think of something miserable to post - just to cheer you up.  😂

I love it,  my favourite Christmas films that I watch every year:-

It's a wonderful life

Miracle on 34th St

A Christmas Carol

Jack Frost

Every year  never get tired if them

Once is enough - it's pretty mawkish.

A Christmas Carol - no one has bettered the Alastair Simm version IMV.

I hadn't seen It's a Wonderful Life until a couple of years ago. Not sure why, it was on often enough when I was a kid.

Too corny!

Give me Bad Santa any day !

Never watched it,never will,Naomi.Vastly over-rated.

You can't judge a film you've never watched.

Too busy moaning, ynnafymmi?  You don't know what you're missing.

This afternoon's entertainment has been Ghost with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore - a multiple tissue job - and that's just the music  - and now it's Love Actually - which is actually my favourite Christmas movie.  More tissues.  Christmas is usually such a busy time for us - visitors and house guests galore - but this year the quiet time has been lovely.  I must remind myself to stop doing it for the multitudes in future!  😂
