We can be sure that Csenge, who has two rings on her leg, has not returned yet, as one of the pair currently occupying the nest has a ring, and the other has no visible ring.
We have received several inquiries from our observers regarding Csenge. Csenge has not successfully bred in the past three years, and she has not laid any eggs in the last one. Experts estimate her age to be at least 18 years old, which makes her the oldest tern observed in our nest observation program. It was expected that the day would come when she would not return.
It is far from certain that this time has come. We are at the beginning of the breeding season, it could appear at any time, but due to its age, it is possible that we will only see it in the archive in our recordings.
