For under the air fryer, around 40cm.  Can you recommend one please?  Lots on eBay although but dubious about buying from there...

i don't use anything under air fryer just have a pot holder for when i take the drawer out x

Why do you think you need one, Smurf?

You should use one of your worktop is marble or granite but it's recommended for all worktops.

Lakeland sell one for £10, currently out of stock.

Dunelm sell 2 cork mats for £10. 40x20cm each

As good as anything:

I've never given it a thought until readng this thread.  I've just finished a 55-minute cook on mine and I moved it and felt the worktop underneath and it was hardly luke warm.  Obviously just another marketing scam.

^^^ 55 minutes???  I've never cooked anything in an air fryer for more than 30 minutes!  (Most things take just 10 to 15 minutes).

However I agree that it shouldn't be necessary to put anything under an air fryer itself.  It's just the basket bit that might need somewhere suitable to stand when it's taken out of the main unit.  (I simply put mine on the draining board).

Ooooops, typo, should be 25 minutes, from frozen, breaded cod fillet.

Not all air fryers are the same, like the latest Ninja

Thanks for this post, it encouraged me to look up an old friend I haven't seen since we worked together replacing the firebricks in just shut down furnaces.

Nice to catch up with Mathew.

Tilly l read somewhere that air fryers can catch fire...  would this just be the cheapie ones do you think??

I don't have anything under my airfryer but I do have a large tile that I put the drawer on when I am dishing up or tossing the food about.

A whole chicked would take longer than 35 minutes.

I've a mat similar to what Buenchico has recommended under mine.  Just in case.  I also have some old table mats where I pull the drawer onto since they are wipeable.

Smurf, any air fryer can catch fire if you don't keep it clean.

I bought a dozen silicone mats (a few years ago)...£1 each from Poundland. Lots of uses for them and still going strong.
