“When the facts change, I change my mind - what do you do, sir?”

― John Maynard Keynes

I have been a loyal supporter of both Donald Trump & Nigel Farage for the last few years, & over several issues, but due to their recent stance on Russia & Ukraine I feel I can no longer give them my approval.

Does anyone else have similar feelings ?

I have never supported Trump, he is a sociopath acting to type, so I have no need to be disappointed in his behaviour.

He couldn't run a bath, and his nonsensical approach to the fate of millions is seriously worrying.

Isn't that Labour's current line? We know we promised that in our manifesto but the facts have changed....

Re Trump. He frightens me. What comes out of his mouth frightens me, what goes on in his head could be terrifying.

Perhaps we'll now witness the zeal of the convert.

Don't worry about it. Like a leaf in the wind.

The penny is finally dropping for alot of people about these characters.

I admire you for saying it khandro.

Why Farage?

Ever since I’ve been posting on AB about these two (Farage & Trump), I’ve pointed out that both are complete idiots – how anyone could come to any other conclusion is a complete mystery to me.

If you'd have changed Trump for Starmer in AHs post it would have been equally valid.

I like Farage and think that he would be a good PM.

I will admit that his show of support for Trump is confusing.  Though I think that he is probably trying to not make an enemy of Trump and the US.

Trump is the lowest form of life and has no redeeming qualities.  I don't know why his party allow him to  such destruptive changes in his quest to rule everything.

i have been very harsh on you (even quite mean) khandro but it takes guts to change your mind openly like this and i respect it

I'm on the fence - let's see what they do.

IF Trump can bring peace to Ukraine & Gaza & IF Farage can muster some viable opposition to Labour then Khandro may change his mind again.

btw - I don't think this belongs in "News".

//IF Trump can bring peace to Ukraine & Gaza//

He possibly could, but only if he gets to line his own pockets, with lot's of moolah.

Looks like you've made some new 'friends' Khandro, congrats!

why are you lumping Farage in with Trump? He's not changed anything on Ukraine.

Anyway I agree with you on Trump on the Ukraine issue, I also have changed my view. The way he's cosied up to Putin and thrown Ukrain under the bus is disgusting. Harris would have been better in this area but I still think domestically for the US Trump is the better option.

TTT. It was a hard pill to swallow when Farage suggested the 'West provoked Russia's invasion of Ukraine', however I let it pass, but since then and of late it's more his crimes of omission. How can anyone not outrightly condemn Putin ? He seems to me to be now guarding everything he says for fear of upsetting Trump.

Further to that is his now hissy-fit against Rupert Lowe MP, someone I quite admire (what little I know). I saw an interview with Lowe who was highlighting the scandalous dumping of toxic waste in the sea next to his constituency, and I rather liked the cut of his jib.

Anyway that's how I feel at the moment and if the situation changes I might even change again with it and neither of them will get any support from me. Of course they will not lose any sleep over that, but perhaps if enough others feel similarly then they might.

Welcome to the left Khandro. Help yourself to some freedom muesli. There's some almond milk in the fridge. 😉

Almond milk? That's just nuts.

if Trump did indeed turn out to be doolally and was sidelined as such, how would the world get on with President Vance?
