It seems now almost every website I go to want me to accept cookies, only a few have the 'reject all' option.

Do you accept them ?

Not usually.

Not always, depends a lot on the website visited.

If you and I are both looking at the same webpage and one of us clicks on something, how does the server know who clicked? Some cookies are essential.

I think the websites are required to give you the option of accepting all cookies or rejecting them or picking and choosing. I refuse when possible.

No. Nor do I give permission for spying on me, even when they pretend there ever could be a legitimate reason.

It never was as bad as it is now. For example TTT is always quoting from the Express & it's not possible to read the article without accepting their cookies (not a great loss I admit).

Could it have something to do with which browser you use ? I'm W10 Chrome

UnHerd is now another one.

Sites have to ask you by law to accept cookies or not.

If you keep refusing all cookies then that is why you are getting so many, the site sees you as a new visitor every time.

They all seem to have an "essential" cookie. It can hold the info where the tech owner told them to shove it.
