Googlefight Winmx

I Just did a 'Googlefight'; http://www.googlefight.com/ winmx 160 000 results versus kazaa 397 000 results. Kazaa seems to win out but I'm drawn to Winmx. Is it catching up, perchance? Does Winmx have adware or spyware?

if you go to winmx home page you'll see they have no spyware (or adware) at all. i just tried a few and liked the interface on winmx the best. it also has chatrooms available if you like those things. kazaa probably has more users but give them both a try and see which you like best.

Hmm.. Kazaa Lite also has no Adware/spyware. Once again sft42 you mentally thwart me. My choice was to definitely not try both but to rely on opinions of others. However as the opinions have been sparse and balanced, I am going with your advice.. Thing is.. which do I try first? Anyone?

To begin, sft42 is correct: Try BOTH and decide what YOU like. No versions of WinMX have Spyware, and all versions have 5 times of users than Kazaa. All versions of Kazaa have Spyware. I use both, here is my opinion: Kazaa fluctuates between 300,000 to 3,000,000 users daily. Kazaa, compared to Imesh/Bearshare/Madster/Morpheus, has the 2nd most comprehensive library of music and movies available. You can find any genre, and the Searches are easy. You can find an average of 150+ results for one search. Now, there is WinMX, with 10,000,000 users on average. One search can yield over 1000 results. WinMX literally blows all Downloading programs off the map. If you want to track down rarities/live/bootlegs/demos/acoustics/B-sides WinMX is the place. Also, WinMX is the domain for videos and DVDs. You can (and will) find full concerts, both bootlegged and ripped from DVD. WinMX is the place to be if you want to find something that was televised - Users there specialise in DVD ripping.

A few more points: WinMX speeds are faster. It is easier to stay connected to a User on WinMX. You can Browse their Shared Folders, and keep their Folders open. You can also engage in multiple searches. There can be anywhere between 10-100 users with the same file: that means a FAST download. And, Sharing is fully in your control. With Kazaa, it is easy to become disconnected while downloading. You can only do 1 search at a time. many times, when you Browse others on Kazaa, Kazaa freezes. Genrally, there are between 1-5 users with the same file. Speeds can be moderate to slow on Kazaa. As for Sharing on Kazaa, it's f*cking bullsh*t. It's harder to control what you want to share, and when you Un-Share, oit can take several hours for kazaa to make your files Un-Shared, and once again Kazaa will freeze your pc. And the Spy/Adware can ruin your PC. Even if you re-adjust your Privacy Settings to disallow the pop-up ads, they Pop Up anyway. This can wreck your pc. Well, Good Night!!

Just an opinion - I find Winmx slightly better than Kazaa for UK stuff, especially if it's a bit obscure.
