e-Bay - Parcel not arrived.
Hi all.
On Monday my husband posted 3 parcels to 3 seperate addresses to people who won bids on e-Bay. I got a feedback from one yesterday saying it had arrived (one of the bigger, heaviest parcels out of the 3) but last night I receieved a message saying that one of the parcels hadn't arrived and no feedback from the 3rd, so am assuming it hasn't arrived yet either.
What do I do next? I have contacted them back saying I am looking into it and have contacted the Post Office, which I have but only to ask them what happens next.
If this doesn't get sorted, do I pay her all her money back as goodwill? I have receipt of postage, with her address printed on it so I can prove I have posted it.
My husband usually sorts all this out but he was rushed to hospital yesterday and I can't get in to see him, so don't know what to do? heads all over the place. I would be most greatful if someone could tell me what the best thing to do is, or what happens next.
Thanx

If you email the girl and tell her what has happened, and ask her to wait (if you only posted on monday, i dont think it's unreasonable for her to wait a bit longer to see if it comes)
I have a feeling the onus is on her to sort things out with the post office if things havent arrived, not you. I would guess you coulkd give her the details of proof of posting and let her deal with it from there, after all, it's hardly your fault.
Do nothing for the moment. If the goods have not arrived after the 15 days, refund in full and claim from Royal Mail. You will be covered for up to 30 at least, depending on the methods of postage that you used.
It is always the sellers responsibility.
Were they actually 'parcels', or were they first or second class packets?
Only if they were first class is there any reason at all to start panicking - for parcel post and second class post today was the target date of delivery, a target that is usually met but can be missed more often than you would want. If the person was out when they tried to deliver then they will try again and eventually leave a card.
If they have gone astray (and I'd leave it until after the weekend) you can get a claim form at any post office.
Thanx for your reply dzug
The 3 of them were parcels, the smallest one was however sent second class as it was very light (a DVD), it was meant to be First class, husband got it wrong but I only realised today when I found the receipt.
The receipt says they are classed as standard parcel.
Hopefully they turned up today, but still as of yet no feedback from them.
It took 12 days to arrive, and the Royal Mail said they would not consider it missing until 15 working days had past.
I have sent standard parcels that have arrived next day. Usually three days or so though.
Recorded does not guarantee anything, it just requires a signature on receipt. That is the only difference.
