Accessing webcam on networked computer
I have just set up the following: Blueyonder broadband into netgear wireless router which feeds (by wire) a broadband telephone adapter and the main pc in the house. Wirelessly connected is one daughters laptop and the other daughters desktop. The desktop pc has a webcam attached......
Here is the question!
Can I access the webcam (from the pc downstairs)when my daughters pc is switched on (upstairs). We have a bunch of youths damaging property near to my daughters bedroom window and I would like to monitor them with the camera. (which is upstairs at the back of the house) from the pc in the downstairs front of the house. The webcam is connected via usb.

However you would need a pretty good quality webcam to get a decent video of something more than 10m away especially at night.
You are better off calling the police really.
