Help! Lost emails

Not sure what we have done but we have managed to 'lose' all our emails. Have found a dbx file which appears to be an archive/backup of the lost emails but don't know how to retrieve the emails from this.

Please can someone explain.

Running Outlook Express 6 if it makes a difference.
