Secure home wireless network
Anyone on here consider themselves experts in this area?
I watched an episode of the Real Hustle the other night, where the team hacked into this blokes network, and were able to watch and record everything he did online, such as booking a holiday... Obviously some serious security implications here.
I currently have my home network WPA and MAC authorization code secured.... How secure am I though?

I have had people in my house, with their own laptops, unable to connect to my network.
No doubt some very clever hacker could - but why should he bother? You and I are not typical targets for extreme hacking - they tend to target businesses and institiutions where they know the information will be useful.
I have connected to my neighbour's wifi easily (by accident and without his knowledge) simply because he had taken no security precautions whatsoever.
As long as you have carried out these measures I should just stop worrying about it:

Before internet arrived it was possible to tap into your telephone line at the exchange. Now they are able to do this with your internet usage. Don't always think that information is gained from your PC directly! In fact hackers can easily get information from your ISP server which are also prone to viruses.
Good point kwicky, but I have no control over the security at either the exchange or the ISP, only over my own access/network , and I was particularly concerned ,based upon the documentary thing I saw, that my own wireless network could be open to "driveby" hacking from relatively unsophisticated hackers.
Wireless video phone is the latest addition in this list of ‘Smart Devices’. A wireless video door phone is a safe and most reliable way of guarding the house against stealthy intruders. A wireless video door phone comes with extra ordinary feature like they come in wider angles thus enhanced image of the person on the door.
