Firefox 2.0 Crashing Machine
6 Answers
Having enjoyed the Firefox browsing experience for a long old time now, I was looking forward to 2.0.
Downloaded it last night, and the first time I tried to run it, it crashed my PC, sending it into a reboot. I let it reboot and tried again. Same thing, fell over and went into a reboot. Let it reboot, didn't go anywhere near Firefox, but used IE and it still happened.
I shut the machine down immediately it booted up and let it stew for a few minutes. Let it come up in Safe Mode and see what happens. Nothing happens. It's fine.
Reverted to Firefox 1.5 and now everything's fine again.
Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone have a cure. Perhaps I need to wait for 2.0.1 to come out. :-(

Download and install the MR tech local install Extension, it appears to over ride the version compatibility issues you may be experiencing.
Once installed, (in FF) click tools, select add ons (a window will open), scroll down to a non compatible extension, right click it and select Make compatible. A compatibility warning box will pop up, OK it and continue)
Next time you open Firefox, the extension should be working.
This may not be 100% effective, but worked on all my extensions.
