My sons are getting laptops for Christmas. I have ntl broadband and a wireless router. Can I put my broadband etc. on the other two laptops or do I have to arrange it separately? or pay for it separately?

I don't know if this is a stupid question!

you need to get a router and set up a home network. You all use the same connection then.
Talk to yor ISP - they will be able to provide you (mayube free) with a router and instructions on how to set it up. If you're using laptops, think about wireless.
I am on Cable broadband too (telewest) and have a router.

There is no problem at all - all online at the same time from the same connection.

However, I found that I had to install the telewest software on all my pcs first - before setting up the router. It may not be the same for you, but if you have trouble connecting, it will be worth a try.

If you already have broadband and a wireless router then you don't need any new hardware, assuming that the laptops are wireless enabled. Most sold now are. If they aren't, you can pick up a cheap wireless dongle like this one:

When you're set up, register alternative user names for yourself, then let each boy use one of them. It'll all be on the one account that you've already got - no extra to pay.

I set up the laptops, checked it had security (norton) went to find the instructions and when I came back my son was on the internet!!!!

It connected to my wireless on it's own so I did'nt have to do anything in the end.
