I understand spammers use some kind of scanning device to harvest email addresses from websites. They look for the tell-tale @ sign. I'm told it's possible to confuse these devices by inserting code (rather like an html fragment) along with the email address. Does anyone know how this is done please and how to make such a code?

Many thanks RIR. It looks quite a challenge but I'll get it sorted. I'm so fed up with spam from my website and will have to introduce one or two new email links.
