The only sure way to delete all traces of your internet history is to remove the hard drive and smash it.

There are free programmes that scrub your hard drive, but then it is completely useless until you reload your software.

Have a look at IE Privacy Keeper, despite its name it also works with FireFox. You can delete or scrub Temp Internet Files, History, Cookies, Temp files as well as many other things, provided you tell it what to remove. For example, it will not remove your history unless you tick/check the box telling it to clean it. You can also selectively keep some, for example, you can have it delete all cookies except the ones you tell it to keep. Have a look at the User manual, there is a page for each tab in Privacy Keeper.

Personally I have it set up to autorun every time I close FF or Maxthon or IE.

It will even remove those notorious Index.dat files that microsoft uses to keep copies of TIF, cookies and History that you think you have removed.

There's a little add-on for Firefox called Stealther.
When activated it stops any record of your internet activity from being made in the first place so there's nothing to clear.
hi there is an easy way to delete any temperary internet files on your computer as well as the way you do it already also go to start - run - type %temp% - select all - delete - go to recycle bin and empty. hope this helps
Would not Ccleaner also do this sleepyfairy?
not really, it only appears to clean, but if you actually open this way you will probably see files it has left behind, try and see for yourself
