How do I create a new folder in Firefox? All I can find in the dropdowns is a facility for creating subfolders of those that exist already, which I don't want at all. When I began using F I set up folders with no problem, but since a recent update of F it doesn't seem possible to do it. Any help gratefully received.

I assume you mean in the bookmarks section?
Click bookmarks->organise bookmarks.

Click 'new folder'

It should be now at the top of your bookmarks list. If it isn't in the right place, drag it about until it is.
If you want to bookmark a page you are on into a new folder, the quick way is to right click anywhere on the page, click bookmark this page - and click on the little arrow to the right of 'bookmark's.

You will see 'new folder' bottom left of the new popup.

It only takes a second. You can name the new folder in this box at the same time.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. It's a new folder for certain emails i can't set up. It used to be so easy.
firefox is a web browser, nothing to do with emails.

what email service do you use?

My mistake again. I meant Thunderbird. I really do apologise to all of you for wasting your time, and can only plead extreme tiredness. The Firefox tips will be useful when I need to do that.
ok, on the left there should be your folders already there.. sent messages, junk, etc.

at the top should be your email address, with all the subfolders like your inbox etc. inside (below) it, right? right-click your email address, and click 'new folder'.

you can do the same for any of the existing folders, if you want to create a new subfolder.
