I'm having problems with my free version not able to up date since 28.04.07 current status in RED your computer is at risk, after trying every day to update I get error fail to connect to server ewido,net thanks for any info please.

Too many variables to suggest an answer but the easiest suggestion I think would be to simply re-install AVG. It takes just a few minutes and make sure that when it asks you whether to get updates from file or internet, you tick the internet box. That might be your problem, it could be looking for updates from a file but i don't know how to get to that setting from an already installed package

Are you runing a firewall ?

Has your firewall been set to block AVG going out to the internet ?

Open your Firewall and see if you have a list sites and it may say BLOCKED (or similar) for AVG. Change it to ALLOW (or similar).

Thanks for replies sorry I'm late been away vehelpfulguy yes I have Zone Alarm Firewall with Internet Explorer Browser my AVG Anti Spyware had question marks in the Zone Alarm program list I have now ticked acceptance on all AVG components for access and server but I still have error or update process aborted when I try to update I have no response with system restore could Internet options have any bearing on the problem with privacy/ content /programs on medium high.
