Mozilla Firefox

I type for sometime and I'm required to log-in again. Yes I know that the connection expires if you don't use it but it's such a short time. I'm guessing it's a problem of Mozilla, because when I use Internet Explorer, it stays logged in for a longer period. Any suggestions/ fixes? P.S. I don't want to check the remember me because I'm on a somewhat unsafe connection.
