Safe Video Storage

Does anybody know of a site that i can save my videos (eg. homevideos and short videos from my phone/digital camera) I currently keep all my photos on my BT homepage, yet there isnt a facitlity for videos. Im looking for permanent, safe, private storage. Thanks in advance for any help.

You can save short video films on photobucket, but video takes up an awful lot of space, which is why you are having problems finding what you want.

Photos take very little resources in comparison.

If sharing with friends online isn't a major priority, a much better idea is to get an external hard drive and back all your video up regularly (�50).

Yeah i guessed that it was because video files are so large, Ethel. Fo3nix, sharing them isnt a priority anyway, i just wanted a place to store all my family videos. Finding a web site would mean not having to take up any room, like an external hard drive would... but to be honest, thats quite a good idea, i hadn't thought about that! Although i would prefer to find a web site to store them on, but dont manage to find a site, then that would be of great use to me, thank you both!

It's not just that they'd take up a lot of room, but that they'd take forever to transfer to the remote computer.

The only reason youtube and the like work right now is that they have heavily degraded video; HD or even just near-DVD quality footage takes up a lot of space, so you'd be leaving your computer on all the time just to upload them.

External hard drives really don't take up much space, and they're far, far faster than your internet connection. Stand it upright, put it behind your monitor, and forget about it.

You could use a free program like rsync to transfer the data (takes a little bit of setting up, other easier methods exist).

Good brands are LaCie, Maxtor, Western Digital, Seagate.
