Hotmail
2 Answers
I Had to change my password on hotmail just before going on holiday for 5 weeks, and since coming back I have forgotten what it was. I asked hotmail for a reminder and they asked me the answer to my secret question (which I supplied 10 years ago and can't now remember what the answer was!!!)! I am now in the position of being unable to access any of my hundreds of saved emails which is a real pain! Does anyone know a way of regaining access to my Hotmail account without remembering the answer to my secret question?? I know I can open a new account with a new hotmail address, but all of my old emails would be forever lost, not to mention the inconvenience of having to send all my contacts my new address!!!! Any help would be gratefully received!!!

A couple of legal cases recently ended in tears when executors of wills failed to get access to accounts.
The FBI can do it - as can other legal agencies (with the suitable warrants)
the Idea of a secret question is - that the answer is one you won't forget ... mother's name ... place of birth
I use a prog called infosafe
(roboform is also good)
to keep a record of all my passwords - it's encrypted .... and the only password I need remember.
bit late now ...
there are progs which will reveal password histories (google ELCOM) ... but they are not free
