wireless bradband

Hello everybody i need help urgently. i am with ntl and have broaugt a laptop which i wish to connect to the internet so off i trot to tescos and i brought a phillips wireless networking starter kit but i don't seem to be able to get it to work can anybody help me i'm a novice when it comes to computers and thgis thing is doing my head in any help would be greatly welcommed plus you would be saving my life and my new laptops. thanks in advance.

I assume you are now with Virgin, as NTL is defunct.

We need to know if you get your broadband down the original bt telephone line, or from NTL cable.

You may have bought the wrong sort of router.
