Flash games

I play flash games online & download the good ones by saving the web page with Firefox, then extract the .SWF game file and play off line - full screen - with irfanview or open with the Firefox browser ( macromedia flash). Recently Firefox won't open these files and some games I can't play anymore as irfanview doesn't allow keyboard game control. Can anyone help please? I've reinstalled the latest flash & the latest firefox but no good. Can you configure irfanview to accept normal keyboard entries when running a game? All other flash players I've tried disappear after install and irfanview prevails as default. No luck posting this in the internet topic so thought I'd try here. Someone must know surely....
If I've not explained the problem very well I'd be glad to elaborate on details. Please help with this.
