downloading games

Hi there can anyone help me . I have downloaded from MSN Oberon two games 7 Wonders of the Ancient World & 7 Wonders2 I cannot play them as I keep getting a message for 7Wonders2 "no compatible display devices found" -- for 7 Wonders it is " Check Device Type Direct 3D device does not support the queried technique" I queried this with oberon & they have said to ensure i have the latest version of DirectX & that my video card driver might need upgrading. Where do I find out the info. I need please. Running Dell laptop Inspiron 6000 & Windows XP v SP2

firstly you need to download direct x 9c which is the latest i believe
http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/directx.h tml
then find out the make and model of your video card (right click my computer/properties/hardware/device manager/display properties
then go to the manufacturers site(google it) then there should be a downloads section download the latest drivers for your card. hope this helps,shawn.

Thank you for your reply , I am not able to play the games because I cannot upgrade my video card ( at least it would cost a lot- something to do with the motherboard & my pc being a laptop So guess I'm stuck . Thanks again Genny
