Network compatability
My broadband connection is via a wireless BT HH, and the desktop works fine. I would now like to network my laptop into the system - will a Netgear 802.11g PC card work?
Also, am I stuck with the HH, or can I use another wireless router?

If your laptop is two years old I would be extremely surprised if it is not wifi enabled as standard. Are you sure it isn't?
Shaun, I don't know anything about bt home hubs but I am struggling to see the point of using a different router. Am I missing something as a different router will only do exactly what you can do now.

I haven't checked the laptop yet, as at present I am off-shore for two weeks, and the computer is at home, so it may well be enabled. I was just asking about a PC card in case it wasn't.
As for the HH, I am frequently having to reset it, and power down/power up due to losing connection. This seems to be a common fault with Home Hubs, going by comments on other forums, so I was thinking of replacing rather than a protracted battle with BT (via the sub-continent)
If, as you say a generic router will do the job, then I have a much wider choice.

this shouldn't happen with the hub and it should be replaced by BT if it is still in warranty - is it the hub connection that drops or is it the bb connection - if you replace it with anither router you could have the same issue!
however, you can use any other wireless router to do the same job, it doesn't need to be a bt one to use the btbb service.

The problems with the HH - occasionally all the lights are on, but nothing connects. I guess I could have it replaced by BT (oh, its not BT... its Openreach, a BT company...) but I've read several stories about others with HH problems, and I dont fancy going through all the hassle of complaining, returning, etc.
