Hello, we've just had Virgin media broadband installed and it works fine...
I bought a wireless router so we can use it all over the house. I've followed all the instructions very carefully a number of times and even tried to configure it manually but it still wont work.
It's saying the it cannot find the connection for the router from my laptop. What do I do??...I cant ring the helpline either cuz the numbers barred from my mobile and we dont have a landline!!

Right click the Belkin Icon in your desktop tray (It should be a red monitor icon) and click the middle option. I have this router and I do this if I can not connect.
I can't remember the option but I think its says something about zero config ot something.
Give it a go.

Sorry.
rather hard to do this like this so i will fire a few options at you.

Is your wireless link turned on on your lappy

Unplug your wireless router (power) for about 30 secs then plug back in see what your lappy comes up with

What lights are lit on your router
Are you connecting the laptop to the router by ethernet for the installation and set up process?

Is the router the right sort? There are two -one for broadband down the telephone line regardless of provider; one for broadband down Virgin cable.

Yup, tried all of those already, its definatly the right router, trying to do it by ethernet cable for initial set up but still work work. I'm getting the wireless signal but its not been installed properly so therefore unsecure!
