ii i buy a wireless router to connect a wireless laptop to my computer what do i need to attach to the laptop to make the connection? A usb dongle?

How old is your laptop? It may be wifi enabled in which case it needs nothing more.

If it isn't you will need a dongle or a card, depending on the slots your laptop has.

only a couple of days old.
the problem is that im computer illiterate and dont know what comes in the wireless router package.

We got a wireless router when we connected with Sky Broadband and bought a dongle for �20. When it wouldnt connect I found the Windows Xp was Service Pack 1 and you need Service Pack 2 (hope I've got the terminology right).
