Best broadband option
I am not very good with these things and only use computer at work but my elderly dad has come to me for advice and I am not best to give it. At the moment he uses BT dial up for his computer. He probably does not spend more than 5 a quarter as is not online much. Anyway he is getting loads of spam emails and his spend has gone up to about 5 a month just letting these emails through. Anyway a friend of his is going to have a look but in the meantime has suggested he changes to tiscali or talktalk - can anyone advise is this the best thing to do?

He will need to spend a lot more if he goes the broadband route - Tiscali offer a basic package for 6.49 pm but that increases to 12.99 after 3 months. Doesn't sound like your dad would really make much use of a BB deal, I would stay with dial up and just get a new email address. Why not try web based email such as Google Mail, Its free and has built in spam filtering?
