pop up blocker not stopping pop ups

My pop up blocker is set to med-high & we have not had any problems with pop ups for a while. However, just recently my husband has installed a site to convert music for his Viewty phone & we seem to be getting a lot of pop ups. There is a flag message saying "contextadvisor" when we log on. Anyone had similar problems or able to offer any advice? The firewalls are in place & we are using AVG7.5 as virus protection

Hi 'revpat55' .....the problem is that no 'pop-up blocker' will give 100% protection ...they alll seem to let something through. Firewalls and AVG don't have any effect on pop-ups ....maybe try another 'pop-up blocker'.

i use avg..you know there is a new version out...update your avg

im not sure how to get rid of it just yet but if you go to "my computer" open up your hard drive usualy on windows based computers it will be labled as either local disk or it will be labeled in some way as the c: drive. got to program file and find the folder that is labeled context advisor. in there there should be a file labeled uninstall. that is susposed to remove it but on my computer i didn not do it but it is still worth a try. i am going to continue tot try to get rid of it on mine so if it doesnt work let know and hopefully i will have found a way to delete it cause it is so annoying.
