Yahoo ads and 'footers'

I use Yahoo mail via the website (can't get it to work in Outlook or OE). That's not my problem. What is, is the advertising banner on the right hand side - I know there's an arrow which allows you to get rid of it but only till you go to another page, Reply for instance. Any way I can permanently disable this 'feature'?

The other thing that p*ssess me off royally are the 'footers' that appear to be attached to everything I either send or receive. Can I do anything about those on the emails I send?

Thanks

Do you pay for Yahoo mail? If not, then I would doubt you can remove the advertising, as it will pay for the mail service.

Never thought of that! No, I don't pay for it. And I wouldn't want to if I found I still didn't have the option to kill the ads!

Have now checked out Yahoo Plus (the one you pay for) and it does promise no promotional taglines and no ads. Before I commit to paying I need to ask another question which I'll do on another post.

Thanks for nudging me in that direction!
