entering my password for facebook msn etc

I am able to access my internet and open up pages, but I am unable to enter any sites where I have to put in my password for example my bank, msn, facebook etc...any suggestions would be gratefully received

try turning whatever firewall you are using off and see if you can access them then...

Sorry I posted on computers first then noticed the internet one.
I tried your suggestion plus everything the service provider advised even he was stumped.
Eventually it turned out the browser settings had to be changed.
