Friends Reunited - how embarrassing!!!
2 Answers
Come on guys, we've all done it - had a look around Friends Reunited just to have a snoop at what a few people are reporting to be doing with themselves - people you wouldn't want to know you're looking them up and have no intention whatsoever of actually contacting - you know...ex boyfriends, hubby's ex wife, that fit bloke at work, those distant rellies you had a bust-up with and haven't seen for years...you're just being nosy - you get the picture. It also had the very useful facility to add all these people's profiles as 'friends' in your account (like watching an item on eBay) so you could see at a glance when they were updated, with the absolute assurance from Friends Reunited that these people wouldn't know who'd bookmarked their profiles - it was COMPLETELY ANONYMOUS. As was it, until they changed the website a couple of days ago. Now, instead of the 'friends' list, there's a 'do you know...' tab, where, along with any profiles you may have bookmarked, it lists other people it says it thinks you may know. What it doesn't say is that that list of suggested people is actually a list of people who have you on their supposedly anonymous bookmarked list!!! So, in short, I've happily been keeping tabs on various people's profiles to see what updates etc they post, secure in the knowledge that they'll never know I'm snooping, and then BANG...my name and photo appears on their 'do you know this person' list!!! Ooops......!!! Well and truly busted there I think. Serves me right for being nosy I suppose. Anyone else fallen foul of this 'new and improved' system on good old Friends Reunited??? Maybe they should change the name to 'Enemies Relocated'! lol.
