I have tried several time to send an e-mail but keep getting the message - FAILED - 4.4.7 (delivery time expired)

Does anyone know what this means?

Yes it means that you have sent an email to someone (who is having trouble with their email or their address is wrong) and the email system has given up trying to send it after a certain amount of time.
