Emergency; Please help Adobe has taken over

Please please help me (computer thicko) I downloaded an adobe attachment from dell computers, I think they have deliberately taken over my computer cos of my on going complaints over 10 months, and now all of my screen icons are showing the Adobe icon (with the proper system next to it i.e. Aol, internet explorer) can someone tell me whats happened please.

I think you mean you received an email from Dell with a PDF file attached.

I doubt very much that Dell have deliberately sabotaged your PC, and assuming you simply viewed a PDF file using Adobe Reader, there is no way to receive a virus from it.

If I understand you correctly, the icons for the Internet Explorer and AOL shortcuts on your desktop have changed for some reason. Presumably they still work, they just look different. Therefore this is not an emergency.

To solve this, right-click on the Internet Explorer icon. Choose "Properties". Click the "Shortcut" tab. Click "Change icon". Select the familiar big blue 'e'. Click "OK". Repeat for the AOL icon, except choose the AOL symbol.

thanx koster, the dell coment was tongue in cheek and I was fuming at the time. I have now uninstalled Adobe (whatever number it was) and all is now well. Thank you however for taking the time to answer.

Much the same answer as koster.
Right click on any icon on the desktop and the option to change icon appears.
If you don't see what you want then use the browse option to moricons.dll located in windows/system32 folder.
If it's not there...go to start ,search, all files and folders, for moricons.dll
