Report Phishing Scam

Hi
On my Hotmail account there is an option to send junk mail to 'report phishing scam'. What does this do and does it actually work please?

It does nothing apart from make you feel better and believe that someone is actually trying to trace the "Nigerian prince/your NatWest account"type fake emails.

No point in sending them, no-one can do anything about them.

yep believe me having spent several days recently trying to get a Korean university to take down a bank phishing site that a student had setup and nobody would listen or do anything about it pressing that little button is going to do nothing at all other than make you feel a little better!
