Not sure how to word this so that it makes sense. On my emails and some internet websites like this one words that are typed in are in grey. This makes it a pain to read sometimes or even inputting can be diffcult if i can barely read what I am inputting. What do i need to do to make the lettering solid black? It is not a problem for Word.

Hold down Ctrl and hit the plus key on the numeric pad - this will make the typeface larger
If the text on this page is grey, rather than black, your monitor needs to be adjusted! (Most people have both the brightness and contrast on their monitors set far too high. It can often make it difficult to read text).

There are two 'greyscale' lines on that chart, with numbers on them. I'd be prepared to bet that you can't see all of the numbers, from 0 to 10, clearly on both lines. Adjust your monitor (following the instructions on that page) so that you can see all of the numbers. You'll then probably find that there's a marked improvement in the legibility of text on web pages and in your email.
