freeze panes in Excel 2007

In Excel 2007, how do I freeze the top row of cells so that they stay on the screen when I scroll down?
In my previous version of Excel, there was a "freeze panes" option, but I can't find it in this version.
Help please.

oops misread the question ... saw pain in the bum ... read the title as freeze PILES .... silly me
there are a few alternatives - I used to run this
