Many (probably most) email services don't permit attachments over a certain size. (With some email providers, this can be as low as 1Mb, or even 500kb. Others typically set their limits around 2 to 5Mb). To send large attachments, you can use a service such as Sendspace:

Sendspace allows you to upload files up to 300Mb. You then send your daughter a link to the file. (If you enter her email address, when you upload the file, she should get the link automatically). If you wanted other family members to receive the file, you could just send them the link.
There are loads of other services like Sendspace but they generally work in the same way. (Most allow you to transfer files for free but offer additional advantages if you pay for a 'premium' service). If you want to check out the others (possibly because you've got files bigger than 300Mb), simply Google 'transfer large files'.
If you want to regularly share lots of files with friends and family, you might consider using Gigatribe. You install the software onto each user's computer and then put all relevant files into shared folders, which can be accessed by your friends and family. (It works the same way as programs like Limewire but operates within your own private group of friends, rather than making your files publicly available):
