Please could somebody let me know if watching tv via a video streaming website (Justin tv, idesi tv, etc) counts as 'downloading'? I have a limited downloadable content size of 10G per month with my broadband provider and they have recently informed me that this month i have reached my limit. The only thing i can think of is these sites add to my download stats... (I also use the bbc iplayer too)

Yes they do as you are accessing large amounts of data from the internet. Next time you use iplayer, just see how much data you've downloaded (usually displayed in kbps )

EVERYTHING you look at on the internet is downloaded to your PC before it is shown in your browser, so it all counts towards your download total.

This includes text, pictures, sound and so on.

However video is FAR larger than text and pictures and sound.

You could look at thousands of web pages that consisted of just text and pictures, but just one short video could be larger than all those web sites added together.

However if the video is low format (like much of it is on youtube) then that may not be so much of a problem.
