I suppose anythings possible these days but what do any of you think about this. A guy knocked at the door wearing a Virgin media jacket and says he's doing upgrades but he sees the wall box and asks if we have Virgin to which I answer yes so he says ok fine and walks away. Surely he knows which houses are current users so why ask and what is he upgrading? Also is it conceivable that Virgin would deliberately temporarily degrade your connection speed to encourage you to pay for a faster connection?

I think he was a burglar seeing if anyone was home. Did you ask for ID, was he carrying a toolbox, was there a Virgin Media van parked nearby?
Just because he was wearing the jacket means nothing. Did you contact Virgin to see if anyone was in your area?
Unfortunately the police won't be interested as there is no evidence of a crime being committed.

I'm sure these bogus people are looking for easy targets that will fall for it and invite them into your home. Then they will distract you whilst going through all your stuff and stealing whatever they can.
