I have a secret email address on my pc. If someone else uses my pc would they be able to find this address by doing a search?
My OH is suspicious and I want to know if she could get someone with more tech knowledge to find it.
If this is feasable how do I get rid of all trace of me using it?

if you share a pc, and web pages are saved (a drop down list appears when you start typing, or you keep your browsing history) she will be able to see the sites you've been using, and possibly log in details.
it all depends how clever/stupid you are ;o)

thanks sara.
I know about the deleting recent history. What I was wondering if it is stored anywhere else on my pc? Is she going to be able to find it by searching elsewhere?
I am a bit stupid actually when it comes to technology.
The kids today are brought up on it but I missed out.
Can't take you on holiday though...............OH wouldn't like it.

Why not set up a Windows account for yourself and another for your OH.
Then password protect your windows acount and she will not even be able to logon to your Windows account, let alone find out what you have been doing.
Having separate Windows accounts for each person is a good idea as they can have their own favorites, there own desktop picture, there own settings and so on.
If you want to know how to do it just ask.

In Internet Explorer, if you go into the dropdown menu called
"Tools"
and then
"Internet Options"
you can check a box that says
"Delete browsing history on exit"
Each time you come out of Internet Explorer, it deletes any trace of where you've been browsing.
It won't fool the FBI, but it should be good enough for your purposes.
ps. Before you ask if I do this to evade my other half ... I live on my own and nobody else has access to my lappys.
