Wireless Connection?

I have broadband via my landline but I have just noticed that a light has appeared on my laptop against an icon which I think indicates wifi connection......any ideas please? As I'm sure you can tell I'm not exactly techy.

ffs I'm a pensioner who comes on here for help.......I pressed the s0dding keys that nokno said....my PC crashed and when I've re-booted I've lost my top and bottom toolbars on IE......I think I'm going to cry......

okay......I now have gin and s0d the tonic......how do you ask your PC to revert to a previous dates settings......I know you can but can't remember how....

F3.....yeeees....
the light just means your wireless card is switched on, no big deal just ignore it.

if you really want it switched off there will be (as others have said) either a key combo that will turn it off, or a little switch/button somewhere that will do the same.

What make/model of lappy is it?

thank god it's chuck....I am now at the stage of not caring about the light against the wifi symbol.......I pressed the buttons nokno told me and have now lost the toolbars on IE....I have a Toshiba Satellite....
oh and for the I've lost my top and bottom toolbars on IE

Just press f11 again
It's all Chucks fault... if only he'd come on earlier none of this would have happened...
