Getting INTERNET back on PC
I have discovered some virus's on my PC so decided to try and remove these myself.
Somehow I have deleted part of the INTERNET program and now do not have the "E" Internet Explorer icon. Does anyone know how I can get it back myself without having to go to PC World or something. Ive checked my trash and nothing there from what I deleted.
Thanks

You could try using your backup discs. (You do backup your files when your PC reminds you, don't you?) I recently deleted a few files - that I had created, by the way, so I thought that "I created them, I can delete them" - but then discovered that I could not access Microsoft Works Word Processor. Imagine my dismay. Neither could I access documents that I had typed on Word Processor. I went on to the Backup and Restore page and used the backup discs as instructed by the PC, and, after the best part of an hour, it worked! Best of luck.
Hmm not I have not backed up my files - never do!! I suppose I could do the RESTORE thing but I cant remember where to go to do this ... God I am useless.
The "e" icon has changed into something else and each time I double click it for the Internet I get some form of error message. Currently on my friends PC at present hence me being able to speak to you all - LOL!
Thanks

Right click anywhere on your desktop, select new > shortcut
in the dialog box that pops up type (or copy and paste) the following line...
C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
click next, type in a description for the short cut (internet explorer) and click finish.
You should now have a shortcut to internet explorer on your desktop.

Thanks CHUCKFICKENS but still not working --- I have the same square icon as on my program list. When I double click this icon it reads :
WINDOWS CANNOT ACCESS THIS SPECIFIED DEVICE, PATH OR FILE. YOU MAY NOT HAVE THE APPROPRIATE PERMISSIONS TO ACCESS THE ITEM.
Looks like Im going to have to go to PC World or something as my desktop has changed and it said before I was critical due to infected with Spyware ....... argh!
