Linux connection to wifi

How can I connect my laptop loaded with Linux to BT Home Hub which is used by BT, my ISP. BT do not support Linux and are no help at all. Any advice please now that I have corrected the typos in my previous request.

What flavor of Linux?

Hello Chuck Fickens. I think the software is Xandros although the handbook just states EEE PC 1.0.2.15. Does this help?
I've never used that distro (I dislike it), but I think there should be an icon on the taskbar for network stuff, such as connecting to wifi networks.
