Midi on synth
any keyboard midi experts out there ?
my old vintage korg synth was playing up a bit (garbled performance names, and self rebooting) and therefore needed to be reintialised. before this i need to do a manual dump (back up) of the ram drive sysex files so i don’t lose the original data - i use midi ox for sysex transfer. the thing is that i can also all communication and data transfer in the inout/output screens but it just keeps going and going and going, with my korg led saying ‘tansmit/receive sysex files’ with alternate send & receive.
now, i am a patient man and i have adjusted the bytes transfer up/down, buffer delay up/down etc etc and tried to dump the data from the keyboard into my pc without luck even after around 20 attempts.
can/should it really take hours to do this ? should i just let it go and go ? or is my keyboard fried from the inside out ?
any thoughts, comments, suggestions or ideas gratefully received.
